Compressed Air Leak Survey Service

Leaks are the most common loss in a compressed air system and the quickest to come back. A Systel leak survey finds them, tags them, puts a monthly cost on each one and checks the following quarter whether the repairs held.

Why one survey is not enough

A single leak survey gives a list. Six months later fittings have loosened, hoses have been replaced, a new machine has been connected and the list is out of date. That is why Systel does not sell leak surveys as one-off jobs. They are part of the digitization project and repeat every quarter in the Performance Programme, so each survey is measured against the last one and against the plant’s baseline flow.

What a Systel leak survey covers

  • A walk of the distribution network and production floor while the plant is running, using ultrasonic and acoustic imaging instruments that work in noisy areas.
  • Every leak tagged on site with a number, location and estimated size.
  • A leak register with the estimated air loss in CFM and the energy cost of each leak per month, so the repair list can be ranked by money, not by how loud the hiss is.
  • A comparison with the previous quarter: which leaks were repaired, which came back and which are new.
  • A check of non-production hours on the flow data, which shows the total leak load more reliably than any walk-round.

Who repairs the leaks

Your maintenance team or your contractor. Systel measures and verifies; it does not carry out the repairs. The leak register tells your team where to start, and the next survey shows whether the work held. The owner sees both in the quarterly review.

Why measured flow matters

A leak survey on its own estimates. Flow sensors on the main headers, installed in the digitization project, measure. When the plant is idle the flow should be close to zero; whatever is left is mostly leakage. Tracking that number week by week shows whether the leak load is going up or down between surveys.

Instruments

The surveys use WiseAir leak detection instruments. If you want to buy instruments for your own team, see the WA-EUS-750 acoustic leak imager and the ultrasonic leak detectors on wiseair.in. To estimate what your leaks may be costing, try our calculators.

By invitation. Not a free audit. A feasibility visit is where scope, sensor points and project value are frozen. It starts with a phone call.
